池坊 春のいけばな展 (Ikenobo Spring Ikebana Exhibition)

「池坊 春のいけばな展」に行ってきました。

京あはせでは、華道家元池坊様の書籍や機関誌の翻訳を請け負っています。そのご縁もあり、京都で華展が開催される際には、京あはせスタッフも拝見させていただいています。

次期家元作品

「春のいけばな展」は毎年3月に開催される恒例の華道展で、池坊いけばなの最高教育機関である「池坊中央研修学院」で学ぶ皆様の卒業・修了作品の発表会も兼ねています。会場には、学院の学生や講師陣による渾身のいけばな作品を中心に、約800点もの作品が展示されていました。

作品は、伝統的なものから斬新なものまで幅広く、一つひとつがとても魅力的でした。作品数の多さも相まって圧倒されるほどで、見応えのある展示でした。各作品には作者の手書きメッセージが添えられており、作品に込められた想いや制作時の工夫を知ることで、いけばなの魅力をより深く味わうことができました。

実際に作品を拝見することで、今後の翻訳業務においても大いに参考となり、大変貴重な機会となりました。

[Ikenobo Spring Ikebana Exhibition]

At Kyo-Awase, we translate books published by Ikenobo, the traditional school of ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement). Thanks to this connection, we were invited to visit their Spring Ikebana Exhibition.

The annual exhibition also serves as a graduation showcase for students who have completed their curriculums at the Ikenobo Central Institute of Ikebana. This year, the venue featured more than 800 works of remarkable variety—from classical to modern—created by students, along with pieces by their instructors.

Each work was accompanied by a handwritten message from its creator, sharing the thoughts behind the piece or the challenges faced during its creation. These personal notes added even more depth and charm to the exhibition.

It was also a great opportunity for us to observe actual ikebana works, which will surely support our future translation projects.
